My Bio
Richard began using Apophysis 7X on May 19, 2013 to generate images algorithmically. On September 21, 2013, Chaotica was added to the software toolkit to take advantage of its excellent rendering engine. Richard concluded his fractal imagery experiment in December 2013.

This deviantART profile picture and the corresponding avatar were created algorithmically. If you would like to see the equation that produced the picture it is available at Wolfram|Alpha. Simply click on the link and wait a few seconds for the image to appear and then a few more seconds for the equation to be displayed.

Tools of the Trade
Apophysis 7X, Chaotica, XnViewMP
I joined the deviantART community on July 1, 2013. These are fifty-four of my favorite images submitted to deviantART in my first 6 months.  All images are algorithmic renderings generated in Apophysis 7X. Some of the images have been re-rendered using Chaotica. -- Richard Johnstone (December 31, 2013)

My previous experience with algorithmic renderings was in 1994, when I spent hundreds of hours with the software that came with Julien C. Sprott's book entitled Strange Attractors: Creating Patterns in Chaos (ISBN 1-55851-298-5). The functions and features of the software that is available tod
